I have managed to get my hands on KyoAni’s latest and last rendition of the CLANNAD series. If you haven’t watched it, I suggest you don’t read on because it will completely spoil the episode for you. Like, seriously. KyoAni has managed to overdo themselves and bring back the magic that gave life to Kanon and Haruhi. Much as my blogging skills suck, this is one show I cannot neglect to pay tribute to.
If I didn’t know better, I think this guy was really in to it. Using 3D to render Haruhi and friends opening theme song to Motteke! Serafuku. Nice and professionally done, although there were some quirky areas and parts of it weren’t animated properly, this is truly a video to be applauded.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the video but I don’t like the guy. He made Mikuru look like Kyon’s girlfriend -.-;
I’ve recently acquired some figmas, a Haruhi, Nagato and Nanoha. All made by my favorite toy manufacturer, Max Factory. I learned lots of things about figmas and how they were made to be photogenic and not for being stared at while you’re fapping under your trousers. More pictures after the jump. Was busy today so I didn’t manage to give the figures a proper unpacking ceremony and welcome them properly into the family by giving them numerous photography shots worthy of a gravure idol. Will post more soon.
If you can read Japanese, it seems the second season of Gundam 00 is coming out this October, which isn’t very far away at all. They say that the second half of the story will be played out starting from October as Season 2 of Gundam 00
Looks like there is some good stuff in the line-up this year. Although KyoAni has been rather quiet about it, word has leaked out that Haruhi Season 2 will be coming out this Autumn, and CLANNAD 2 doesn’t seem too far away either, but there seems to be some news that has caught my eye on dengeki called Toradora. It is a high school love comedy about some ordinary guy and the top-ranking Tiger of the school, Aisaka Taiga. That looks like something that could be pretty fun to watch. *Jumps in anticipation. Meanwhile, look out for Toki’s project on Zero no Tsukaima 3 that’s gonna start this July 7th!
Our cute chibi manifestation of ultra-tsundere moeness is back to haunt away the evil tomogaras. I must admit, Shakugan no Shanatan, although a short and random series of spinoffs, is a stroke of genius. God I just love it when Kazumi goes into WTF mode. Genius. Absolute genius. Ok. fine. I’m late. But HEY, at least somebody’s got a life to speak of.
Recently I’ve been coming around to do some translation checking for Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. Yes I know the name sounds awfully 1970’s and Sailormoonish, I thought so too until I saw the anime. I assure you the name does not do quite as much justice to the show as Gundam Seed did for Gundam Seed Destiny. In other words, it’s not so bad since the girls in there are surprisingly moe.
Itazura 9 is win, but for a very different reason. It’s not because of moe girls or fanservice, but this time its win because a guy just dumped a dung-ugly girl. GO IRIE! DUMP THE TRAMP. Serves Matsumoto right for trying to steal Irie from Kotoko. That bimbo-ish-sad-excuse-for-a-girl-nerd needs to be dumped in almost every way possible before she realizes the difference in the quality of Kotoko’s affection and hers.
Today’s another batshit insane trip to the beach, um I mean… Honeymoon. Yes. We must listen to Kyouka-sama and say its a honeymoon. This episode is by far the best one so far and ima tell you why. Most of the other episodes have been absolute pure intrinsic virgin randomness. But today, as Simon would put it, is like “coming out of karaoke hell, into a breath of fresh air”. Don’t get me wrong, the randomness hasn’t been toned down much, but at least this time the producers gave us something to look forward to. I’m assuming you guys have already watched this so its gonna be chock full of spoilers mind you.
I’m not much for shoujo anime but this one caught by eye. (Ok fine. I’m bored because I’m waiting for Macross Frontier 8 to come out.) Itazura na Kiss is a charming little story about a girl who seems to be subject to a divine prank where she just gets drowned in rivers of misfortune. Here’s the story in a nutshell:
These two videos demonstrate why Macross Frontier is FULL OF GOLD and WIN
This is Minmei singing My Boyfriend is a Pilot (Watashi no kare wa PAIROTTO) from the original Macross
And Ranka is singing it too!!! KYUUTE!
