Its 2009 today, so you could say I’m reporting from the future at the moment. Its pretty damn hot here, so we’re feeling the effects of global warming. My horoscope says I’m in for a big year in 2009, and sure enough, when the clock struck 12, I felt all the motivation of my young days return to me at once. This is a new year, and the world has changed. Can’t wait to live it up. 2009 HERE I COME
Lately mellow_bunny introduced me to a series called Bounen no Zamudo (Xam’d Lost Memories). Its a story set in a fantasy land inspired by the environment of wartime Japan in WWII. It is only currently watchable from the Playstation 3 Network, but you can also get it via black voodoo magic. Being a fantasy anime animated by Bones, the same people who did Fullmetal Alchemist, one can be sure this is no ordinary anime. The anime has been running up to about 20 episodes now, and has proven itself to be quite nice to watch. It has an intriguing storyline and very interesting character development.
A friend of mine recently got me a Kagamine Rin nendroid by Good Smile Company. And it was the awesomest present ever. Here’s some pics of me opening up the box to reveal the awesome blonde on the inside. For those of you who do not know who Rin is, she is one of the mascot characters of a computerized singing program known as Vocaloid 2, and is one of the twins Kagamine Rin and Len. Together they both form the second package of voices for Vocaloid 2. The first one being Hatsune Miku.
I can’t believe this one flew past my radar! After remembering (for whatever reason) a line in Renai Blogger where Hinano goes about wanting a certain manga of Shugo Chara, and after seeing a blog post on T.H.A.T. involving Ikuto from Shugo Chara, I felt that it was one of those shows that weren’t hyped up a lot but were really good.
How right I was…
After a brief excursion and taking a break from blogging for a while, something happened on my blog that really caught my attention. Back in May this year, in my ignorance I wrote about how intrigued I felt about Macross Frontier after just watching 5 episodes, and started trying to draw links between Macross and Robotech. I was wrong, and some considered it heresy. A recent flood of comments on the post actually gave me a good laugh, and I’d love to let it go on, but since it has calmed down now, I’ll write this post to clear up any lingering doubts about my enlightenment and calm some roaring fires caused by the post.
